Peace Through Understanding
Aug 23, 2018
The Sheboygan Early Bird Rotary Club sponsored four students to go to the 2018 World Affairs Seminar held at Carroll University, June 23-29. Three of the students will come and talk about their time at the seminar and what they took away from their experience. The World Affairs Seminar is an international youth initiative of Rotary International District 6270. Our vision is to bring better understanding of world problems to young people from around the globe, using current issues as a learning platform. In the course of this study, the WAS provides opportunities for participants to discuss issues with other young people from around the world. Emphasis is on promoting better understanding of the causes of international conflict. The idea is if the causes are understood and solutions developed in a cooperative environment, problems are more likely to be solved peacefully. |

We will once again serve refreshments at the Levitt AMP Sheboygan Music Series in 2018. Sign up for a shift volunteering at this great community event. Don't forget to wear your Lobster Boil shirts! Genre-defying international sensation Delhi 2 Dublin incorporates genres as disparate as the cities in its name in mesmerizing performances that delight audience members of all walks of life. After flourishing for three years—sparking significant investment in the area and bringing people together in the heart of downtown—the Levitt AMP Sheboygan Music Series will return to John Michael Kohler Arts Center’s Festival Green for a fourth year to further increase community pride, drive the local economy and revitalize formerly dormant public spaces. Presented by the John Michael Kohler Arts Center (JMKAC), a nonprofit art museum that gives visitors a place to experience critically acclaimed world-class exhibitions, performances and programs, in partnership with the City of Sheboygan and Sheboygan Squared (Business Improvement District (BID)/Harbor Centre). If there are heavy rains or storms, every effort will be made to move concerts indoors at the Arts Center located at 608 New York Ave. Please visit JMKAC's website, Facebook and Twitter pages for updates regarding inclement weather or call 920-458-6144. |
